All Commissioning related expenses, such as events, receptions, and gifts are fully paid by the Commissioning Committee. Federal Law prohibits any funding by other government institutions. The Commissioning Committee is a 501(c)(3) organization staff by all volunteers who support the ship and the men and women of the United States Navy.
